The Oyster Perpetual Date came to market in the 1950s, just a few years after its larger cousin the Datejust. For comparison, the Datejust measures 36mm in diameter and the Date measures 34mm. Both models are equipped with a waterproof Oyster case and a Perpetual movement with an automatically changing date mechanism, with the Date being a popular choice among collectors who seek a slightly smaller hold on the wrist. The ref. 6534 was one of the first Date watches produced and is characterized by a stainless steel case and bracelet and a white gold fluted bezel. This particular example of the line is in excellent preowned vintage condition and also features a beautifully aged silver dial, Tritium plots in a creamy patina, and a calibre 1030 Perpetual movement.
