Hublot is one of the most famous watch manufacturers that has been extremely popular across the globe, especially among those who follow fashion trends. The brand was forged by a Swiss company established in the 80s in a small city Nyon in Switzerland, and the mastermind behind this watchmaking giant was Carlo Crocco. Ever since the brand has been recognizable for its luxury watches that can be proud of their high quality and choice of material.

A Bit About Hublot History

Since Hublot has a long history, revolutionary design and manufacturing are primarily visible in their approach to creating watch bracelets. Hublot’s first gold watch used the black rubber bracelet, the first of its kind in watchmaking history. Before this moment, gold was never combined with materials such as rubber that are more available. This made the Hublot brand stand out and obtain great success among the customers.

Besides the revolutionary rubber bracelet, Hublot introduced the overall new approach to the watch appearance with a recognizable “Hublot” look – “porthole.”

Carlo Crocco created his first watch in 1967 and later set what we know today as one of the best watch brands in the world. Soon after its creation, Hublot became a serious competitor to distinguished Swiss watchmakers such as Omega and Rolex. It immediately claimed the Best Design prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

The commercial success of the Hublot company was even more enhanced and worked on after Jean-Claude Biver became the CEO of the company. During this time, the brand tried to evolve, which eventually led to its designs including more technology without losing the luxurious design they are recognized for. He closely introduced the idea behind the “Art of fusion” to the broader audience and combined it with the company’s future.

This principle includes material combinations and collection concepts that continually seek to amaze consumers worldwide. Some recognizable combinations of materials are gold, platinum, titanium, zirconium, the most famous fusion of pure gold and boron carbide, and “Hublonium” – metal-containing magnesium and aluminum, among all else.

This was done as a tribute that Hublot did to the Antikythera mechanism, an Ancient Greek Cosmograph that the brand miniaturized to fit inside a wristwatch.

The brand combined modern approaches in design and technology to create groundbreaking designs without losing the luxurious and traditional touch it had since its creation.
